Klaas Alberts had achieved some reputation as a garden designer before he joined a small chamber choir. He soon noticed that singing according to a composer's intentions requires a thorough understanding of the words. Which cannot be taken for granted in a group of some twenty choristers dealing with music from all countries except their own. He therefore volunteered to translate the season's repertoire to Dutch. An activitity that not only proved very usefull for choir rehearsals, but resulted in a series of interesting programme booklets as well.
