‘The Art of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ deals with the textexpression in ‘Three Elizabethan Part Songs’. This expression sheds a complete new light on three independent texts by William Shakespeare and George Herbert. And shows them to be an unity. Parts One and Two of this article investigates the anomalies in composition of the texts responsible for this versatility. Part Three  investigates similar anomalies in the musical composition, which turn the three independent songs on these text into an equally close knit unity. In the process proving the scores to have been antedated.
